Iceland, the Principality of Liechtenstein, the Kingdom of Norway and the Swiss Confederation have entered into and apply corresponding agreements with the United Kingdom that apply to EU citizens; and obligations arising from the cooperation agreement between the European Community and its Member States, on the one hand, and the Swiss Confederation, on the other hand, relating to the fight against fraud and any other illegal activity affecting their financial interests (11) 2. In the event of disagreement between the Union and the United Kingdom over the reasonable period of time to comply with the panel`s decision, the applicant requests in writing, within forty days of the respondent`s notification in accordance with paragraph 1, to set the duration of the reasonable period of time. This request is notified to the respondent at the same time. The arbitration panel notifies the EU and the United Kingdom of its decision on the deadline for compliance within 40 days of filing the application. REAFFIRMING that the UK`s withdrawal from the EU should not infringe on the rights and obligations of the Republic of Cyprus under EU law or on the rights and obligations of the parties to the treaty, the most important elements of the draft agreement are:  5. The reasonable period of time can be extended by mutual agreement between the EU and the United Kingdom. The British Parliament approved the draft agreement by adopting on 23 January 2020 the implementing laws (the 2020 Withdrawal Agreement Act) of the European Union (withdrawal agreement). Following the signing of the agreement, the UK Government adopted and tabled the UK`s ratification instrument on 29 January 2020.  The agreement was ratified by the Council of the European Union on 30 January 2020, after approval by the European Parliament on 29 January 2020.
The UK`s withdrawal from the EU came into force on 31 January 2020 at 11 .m GMT, when the withdrawal agreement came into force in accordance with Article 185.
